RESULT : Skidmarks 5 - 4 Starving Pensioners

sorry for the lack of update but i am in CT trying to post this from the airport before my plane leaves!

well done Skidmarks for a fantastic result on Monday night coming back from 2-0 down to win the game 5-4 against our arch-rivals....one of many arch-rivals!!!! we got of 2 a very slow start which could have been due to lack of match practice and gifted the opposition a couple of early goals...but as the game went on the cream rose to the top...Dom "Baby Rhino" Albrecht deflecting in a low,hard cross from Jonathan "Barney/Darren Fletcher" Hancock...the score was 2-1 to the Pensioners at half time.

An inspired team talk from the Ginja Ninja followed ( not really but I didn't score so gotta say something ) Straight into the 2nd half and we were 3-1 after a few seconds thanks to some more suicidal defending. but then we turned on the old Skidmarks skill, pulling the game back to 3-2 just to chuck it away again when the Pensioners returned to make the score 4-2 with about 8 minutes left to play (Baby rhino got the 2nd goal) Baby Rhino then single-handedly brought us back to 4-3 with his second goal of the evening in his comeback match. Then we won a penalty when the opposition mis-advertantly picked up the ball in the box/semi-circle ....there was no pressure on Gary "Jack Nicholson" Hatfield as he strode up to take the penalty....however it was a Riquelme-esque penalty which rebounded off the crossbar....many teams may have dropped their heads but not the mighty Skidmarks.

The Ginja Ninja closed down the goalkeeper who then gifted the ball to Barney who sidestepped the keeper and passed the ball into the open net for his debut goal...4-4...2 minutes left to play..... then a nice run from Barney...his shot was blocked and followed up by Gary "Jack Nicholson" Hatters and Peri "MTN" Zourides...still not quite sure who got the last touch but i think it will be given to Barney making it a 2 goal debut, takkies and all. All that was left to do was hold on for the 5-4 victory, a bit of a smash and grab affair but we will take the 3 points.

FIXTURE : Skidmarks vs. Apple iPods - 1 May 2006

Our next fixture is Monday 1 May (Pubic holiday) vs. our nemesis' the Apple iPods, we have never beaten the iPods and i personally would like to see this situation resolved.

I mean look at this guy, thinking because he has a cool Apple laptop and a red speedo....now all of a sudden he thinks he can spade the Giraffe!

I am personally going to boycott Apple products, starting by letting the battery on my iPod die and NOT recharging it for at least a week!

P.S Peri : The one in the red speedo was just 4 u!

Oh and looks like iPods have decided to drop down to their appropriate level after winning like 2 games in 2 seasons....and that game is next week so 2 tough opening games...win those and we win the league :)

Bryan "Vin Diesel" Theunissen

Well for those of you who don't know Bryan....he is the rather short guy who appears to be getting quite up close and personal with Peri (in the white wife beater and denim scrotum huggers) Now i have known Bryan since i was a lightie and i never knew he was a pillow biter..Peri on the other hand, well we have all had our suspicions!

Nearly the end of the week

Hey fellow Skidmarks,

'Tis nearly the end of the week so i thought you guys deserve another post. Thanks Fred for that wonderful quote which i will now be plaguerising onto our Blog!

After another Mbambo type footballing display from Juventus last night including the sending off of Pavel Nedved, the following arrived on the internet today :

Emmanuel Eboue : "I think it was about the 70th minute I suddenly notice my shorts felt heavy. I reached into my right pocket and noticed there was a little Czech International footballer with long blonde hair in there! Bugger me for not noticing before, but he must have been in my pocket the whole game prior to that! I think he got sent off a few minutes later."

Well done i suppose to the Arsenal scum but lets hope they don't get much farther not that it looks like Spurs (Come on you Spurs) will get that 4th spot but hey we can dream!

So anyway, some injury news, after being kicked on the "knee" by the rather large iPod ( that doesn't sound right ) the Greek was claiming on Tuesday of swelling and pain etc. When he was asked where he had been kicked, he duly replied "On the.....fankle"....now i could be wrong but fankle is either a mix between Foot and Ankle (nowhere near the knee) or F#cking ankle....again nowhere near the knee. So he has only been back from Dubai for a week and he is already shrowded in controversy!

Tomorrow is national cleavage day which will be thoroughlly enjoyable for you Skidmarks and Skidmark-lovers. We will be posting a picture of some wonderful cleavage in the near future, in fact this cleavage inspires me of a little anecdote which happened not 2 days ago.

The scene was set, as a hot little Jewish girl (with rather large cleavage) had something tossed/dropped/inserted into her cleavage by a person who's birthday it was on this very day. This person then remarked "My, you have the type of cleavage that you just wanna throw things down"......fair comment if i do say so myself, upon which, another male who was sitting in the room and overhearing this remarked "Yes, like your tongue....".

Yes, maybe it was one of those "Had to be there" moments, but none the less, our inspirational goalkeeping sensation Brendan "Mad Dogg" McNiven insisted it be included on this Blog. Where does "Mad Dogg" come from you might say ? Well i made it up right now, on the fly! and i quite like it!

Anyway, i am sure i have a job to do around here...somewhere so....

Friendly Result - Skidmarks 7-9 Apple iPods

Well we played a friendly last night versus our nemesis' the Apple iPods...it was a bit of changed lineup with Bruce away and a couple of players returning from injuries and sabbaticals.

The team last night was :
- Luke "responsible for 2/3 goals" Hatfield (2)
- Gary "It's my birthday" Hatfield (3)
- Dom "I still have a touch like a rhino" Albrecht
- Brendan "Have a shot" McNiven
- Glen "Don't backheel whilst on the wall" Johnstone (1)

- Peter "that oke kicked me" Dunias

If you didn't know the friendly was on and didn't crack the nod...don't feel disheartened 'cos we have had a couple of "original" Skidmarks returning to the team in the form of Dom and Peter but don't worry, i am sure i will be in touch when the season starts.

All in all we played pretty average last night, gave away some stupid goals but it was a friendly and as Sven Sven Sven Goran Eriksson always says, "Friendlies don't matter".

Oh and apparently when Chuck Norris vomits...there are no carrots!

Before I go, Happy Birthday to Gary "I am getting old" Hatfield for today 4 April!Lets see some comments added to this blog guessing how old he is today ? There are no prizes though.
